MMM

logo squareBorn from the dim street lights and sweat soaked stages of the ever evolving music scene in Toronto, the Mayday has created that blend of raw and gritty edge with a dose of blue-eyed soul. There is no doubt that you can hear Matt Morgan’s St. Louis, Missouri upbringing when he takes the mic, as he speaks of ill-fated love stories that resonate with anyone who has ever had their heart broken. With Yash Presswalla on bass, Gareth Parry on lead guitar, Matt Burns on drums, and Sebastian Buccioni on keys, the Mayday is a quartet of top level musicians whose accomplishments and session work is articulated in the tightness of the band’s sound.

Jazz influenced funk rhythms and soulful harmonies make the Mayday’s signature sound, which crosses genres and generations. Download the free EP and and follow this dynamic group on social media as they make their way on to your record player and into your headphones.

What’s new?

Summer is in full swing, and you know what that means — new shows, new releases, and lots of sunshine! MMM are pleased to announce that they will be performing as part of Toronto’s Pan-American games. It’s an honor to be part of this amazing international sporting and cultural event. The games are set to ignite the streets of Toronto from the end of June until August and we wouldn’t want to miss it. On June 19th Matt Morgan & The Mayday will be performing as part of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival. This week and half long event is the premier jazz festival in Ontario and attracts over 40,000 people to the city. MMM will perform at 9:30 at Habits Gastropub with The Muso Project and Arlene Paculan. You can find more info about their show and others at www.torontojazz.com.

Matt Morgan & The Mayday are also set to release a long awaited video version of Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack”, a staple track to their live sets. The video is set to release on June 16th and will be available on all social media outlets. Lastly, do not forget to check out the boys during Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington Market. The gents perform throughout the day on both July 26th and August 30th. Thank you for your continued support — we hope to see you soon!
